An Advanced Health Care Directive (AHCD) is not about how you want to die; it is about how you want to live. While we all tend to think we will always be healthy and able to communicate our wishes, unfortunately, things can quickly change and often unexpectedly.
Anyone over the age of eighteen (18) should sign an AHCD, which specifies his or her wishes regarding treatment and care if he or she becomes ill and cannot communicate for themselves. An AHCD also designates an agent who understands your choices and will speak on your behalf. Please do not wait until it is too late, when you can no longer express those wishes.
Our attorneys are available to assist you in planning for your future medical needs to help ensure your wishes are respected.
